Fauna Profile: Copafa
Status: common
Range: varies (favor grasslands and mountainous forests but various varieties are found almost everywhere)
Description; This is the Copafa! These magnificent creatures are one of Edafus’ most important creatures. Acting much like cattle do for us, these gentle giants are farmed for many uses. From providing manual labor to putting protein on the table, these animals are a must for any resident of the land who wishes to make a living off the land.
The one present here with Ale (another main character whom you will meet in the near future), is a full grown female of the species. Males possess unique horns that are used for sparring during the mating season. These creatures are very adaptable, and can put on a thick winter coat (as shown above) in the cooler parts of the lands or times of the year, while shedding it in favor of a short, glossy summer coat when lead into warmer areas.
The one shown above is one of Ale’s own herd, and a personal favorite of the lord.
Below, I have provided some scribblederps of the male as well as the young copafa for those who might of been curious:
Here we have a headshot of a full grown male copafa showing off his horns. The males are also known to grow out mane-like fluff around the neck and head upon reaching sexual maturity, much like a lion. Also, a young copafa. The copafa starts out very small compared to the monstrous proportions it’s kind is capable of. The neck elongates over time, so the young appear to have much shorter necks than their elders.
just here to remind everyone that I really love copafas and need to draw the herds found within the Fula poi. because they have hilarious outfits with rope ladder type deals delicately strapped to their heads, so watchers can climb up high and keep an eye out for danger and various unsavory this ‘n’ thats. <3
